To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Steve Nolan, I am employed with Alaska West Express Inc as the Maintenance Manager of a fleet of over 700 pieces of equipment, including 84 power units. The majority of the freight we haul is over the famous “Haul Road” from Fairbanks Alaska to the oil fields of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.

In April 2008 I was contacted by Ken Geiger of Next Generation Filtration asking if I would be interested in testing his engine oil by-pass system, I have to say I was hesitant but somehow Ken convinced me to allow him to come to our facility in Fairbanks and install his filtration systems on 2 C-15 equipped Freightliner FLD tractors. We started with new oil and filters, with the agreement that we would not change the engine oil unless the oil samples that we send to the lab indicate a problem. His spin on filters were to be changed at 50K mile intervals.

As of July 09, we have nearly 200K miles between the two tractors, I have been pulling oil samples at 5-7K mile intervals waiting for and expecting a sample indicating a problem. This hasn’t happened, in fact the samples look as good, if not better that the samples that we are seeing on the rest of the units in the fleet that we are servicing at 20K miles. So far under this test, we have omitted 10 oil changes, our cost is about $275.00 to change the engine oil. Really starting to add up.

We are currently discussing how many more trucks to retrofit with the Next Generation Oil Filter System,
